A mid-morning fire incident has occurred at the corporate headquarters of the Federal Airports Authority (FAAN) destroying its audit, commercial, legal and corporate affairs departments.
A staff of the agency who spoke to News Gazette on the telephone said the cause of the fire was yet unknown but that the four departments were badly affected.
“The audit, commercial, legal and corporate affairs departments are badly burnt. It is yet to ascertain what caused the fire,” he said.
He added that FAAN’s firefighting personnel were battling to salvage the situation.
Meanwhile, the incident has crippled activities in the vicinity of the Murtala Muhammed Airport leading to traffic build-up along the Ikeja –Agege Motor Road and on the Oshodi-Mafoluku axis.
