The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has made plans to provide additional zero-fare shuttle buses to ferry passengers who wish to make use of the temporary car park, where some airport shuttles are currently domiciled.
Spokesman for FAAN, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu, who disclosed this today in Lagos said the plan was informed by the recent commissioning of an ultra-modern car park at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport and the need to sanitise airport.
She also advised passengers and airport users who have personal cars to use the newly commissioned car park.
“With the latest arrangement, there will be drastic reduction in traffic gridlock at MMIA, while crowd control will also improve tremendously as a result. Also, the new arrangement will foster better security and safety at the airport,” she said.
Yakubu also apologized to “our esteemed passengers and airport users” for any difficulties they might be encountering due to the latest arrangement.
“While we plead for better understanding by airport users, we promise to continuously deliver watertight security, safety and seamless facilitation at the nation’s airports,” she added.
