Son of President Muhammadu Buhari, Yusuf, has suffered a head injury and a broken limb following a power bike crash in Abuja.
The senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Garba Shehu, confirmed the accident in a statement made available to journalists in Abuja today.
However, Shehu said Yusuf was in a stable condition in a private clinic after undergoing head surgery in Abuja.
“Yusuf Buhari had a bike accident last night around Gwarimpa in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
“He broke a limb and had an injury to the head as a result. He has undergone surgery at a clinic in Abuja. He is in a stable condition.
“The President and his wife, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, are thankful to Nigerians for the good wishes and prayers for their son. May God reward you all,” said Shehu in the statement.
Meanwhile, the former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, took to his twitter handle to express his feelings and wish Yusuf a speedy recovery
“Our thoughts are with the first family – our family will be praying for you. We wish Yusuf a speedy recovery,” he wrote.
