Osinbajo leaves for ECOWAS extraordinary meeting in Togo


The vice president, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has left for Lome, Togo to represent Nigeria in an emergency meeting of leaders of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) taking place today.

The senior special assistant to the vice president on media and publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande said in a short statement issued in Abuja today that Osinbajo, accompanied to the meeting by foreign affairs minister, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, is expected back in Abuja later in the day.

“The meeting is to take stock on developments in Guinea-Bissau. ECOWAS leaders will receive a report on the situation, deliberate on the presentation and issue a communiqué at the end of the meeting,” said Akande.
