The deputy governor of Anambra State, Dr. Nkem Okeke has decamped from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Okeke who served variously as the state’s commissioner for economic planning and commissioner for works and transport in the administration of Governor Peter Obi, was welcomed into the party by President Muhammadu Buhari at a meeting on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The deputy governor was led to the villa by the APC caretaker committee chairman and governor of Yobe State, Mr. Mala Buni, and his Imo State counterpart, Mr. Hope Uzodinma.

Uzodinma, who presented the new APC member to the president, briefed journalists at the end of the meeting.

He expressed confidence that there will be more defections to the ruling party before the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State.
