The 22nd Annual Seminar & Award of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) holds on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Sheraton Hotels and Suites, Lagos.
The event which has as its theme ‘Financing Aviation Development Through Private Sector Partnership’ will be chaired by the managing director and chief executive officer of Air Peace, Mr. Allen Onyema while the minister of state for aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika is the special guest of honour.
Experts expected to speak at the event include the former secretary general of the African Airlines Association (AFRAA), Mr. Nick Fadugba who will be speaking on ‘Partnerships as Key to Survival of Local Airlines’ while the former director general of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Dr. Harold Demuren speaks on ‘MRO Financing Options for Nigeria’.
Others are the director general of the Consumer Protection Agency (CPA), Mr. Babatunde Irukera, who will speak on ‘A Passenger Perspective on Boosting Confidence and Increasing Traffic in Aviation’ while the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO)-certified security expert, Mr. Ayo Obilana, will deliver a paper on ‘Funding Perspectives of Airport Security in Nigeria.’
The event is also expected to be attended by over 200 aviation industry professionals cutting across the aviation agencies, security agencies, domestic and international airlines operating in Nigeria, aviation support services, among others.
Besides, seven aviation stakeholders made up of individuals and corporate organisations who have distinguished themselves in the sub-sector will be honoured with various awards.
