British PM, May arrives Nigeria, signs agreements with FG

The British prime minister, Mrs. Theresa May arrived in Nigeria on Wednesday as part of her three-nation tour of South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya.

On hand to received her were serving ministers led by the minister of foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, the chief of staff to the president, Mr. Abba Kyari, and the secretary to the government of the federal, Mr. Boss Mustapha

Shortly after her arrival, she proceeded to the Presidential Villa, where she held a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Addressing journalists at the Presidential Villa later, Onyeama said the two leaders discussed the security challenges in the country, the economy, the 2019 general elections and other issues during the meeting.

He also said the two countries signed bilateral agreements in the areas of defence and security partnership, as well as a comprehensive agreement on economic development.
