Air Peace chairman, Nick Fadugba make LAAC 2019 conference roll call

The 2019 conference of the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC) will feature the chairman of Air Peace, Mr. Allen Onyema, and the president of African Business Aviation Association (AfBAA) and chief executive officer of African Aviation Services Limited, Mr. Nick Fadugba, among other guests.

The chairman of the seminar committee, Mr. Albinus Chiedu said in a statement that Onyema will set the tone for panel discussions at the event slated for July 17 at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja in Lagos.

Chiedu who said Fadugba had confirmed attendance also said airline chief executive officers will deliberate on thorny industry issues with heads of aviation agencies and other industry stakeholders.

Onyema has a wealth of experience in the aviation industry, having established Air Peace in 2014 with seven aircraft, which has grown to over 20 in less than five years. 

The airline connects major cities in Nigeria, West Africa while plans have reached advanced stage to expand to the Middle East and other long haul routes.

Fadugba, who is also a former secretary general of African Airlines Association (AFRAA) was the co-chairman, African Airlines/MRO Africa Technical Committee on Line Maintenance Co-operation and Spares Pooling in Africa, co-chairman, African Airlines/MRO Africa Technical Committee on Aviation Standards and Regulations Harmonization in Africa, adviser, Association of African Aviation Training Organizations (AATO) and lead moderator, Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM) official launch discussion at African Union (AU) Headquarters, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

He is also a member, Institute of Directors (IOD), United Kingdom (UK), Member, International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading (ISTAT), USA, committee member, Aviation Club of the UK, Member, European Aviation Club, Member, German Aviation Research Society (GARS) and Launch Member, African Business Aviation Association (AfBAA).

Fadugba holds BSc (Honours) in Mass Communication, Post Graduate Diploma, Air Transport Management, MSc (Distinction), Air Transport Planning & Management and MSc Dissertation Award Winner.

He has won several awards and recognitions in the aviation sector, among which were AFRAA Award Winner for ‘Outstanding Services to the African Aviation Industry,’ presented with a Plaque by the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) for ‘Outstanding Contribution and Service to Aviation Safety,’ Aviation Round Table (ART), Nigeria, Award Winner for ‘Invaluable Support and Contribution to the Upliftment of Aviation Safety in Africa, particularly in Nigeria,’ among others.

Apart from Onyema and Fadugba, other major players and airline operators expected to participate at the event are the managing director of Bristow Helicopters, Capt. Dapo Oyeleke, managing director, Dana Air, Mr. Jacky Hathiramani, managing director, Aero, Capt Ado Sanusi, among others.
