Some 895 Nigerians who were trapped in the United Kingdom and Dubai due to the coronavirus pandemic returned home yesterday.
The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) which announced the developments in its tweets said 595 returnees who came in two separate flights operated by Air Peace were evacuated from London while 305 came in from Dubai on Emiratwa Airlines.
The first Air Peace flight conveyed 261 returnees and arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at 7pm while the second flight conveyed 329 citizens and arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos at 8pm.

The second @flyairpeace flight conveying 329 Stranded Nigerians in UK arrive Murtala Muhammed Int’l Airport, Lagos at exactly 8:00pm local time today 14th of July, 2020.
This brings to 590 the total passengers evacuated from the UK today.

NiDCOM said the returnees would undergo 14-day self-isolation in line with the guidelines of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) as well as the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
