Air Peace has given its plan to operate long-haul flights a push with the training of four of its pilots to fly Boeing 777 aircraft.
The spokesman for Air Peace, Mr. Christian Iwarah said the airline’s chief pilot, Capt. Victor Egonu, Capt. Victor Iwo Brown, senior first officer, Capt. Ahmad Abdullahi and first officer, Emmanuel Iwhiwhu participated in the training.
The training which took place at the Boeing Training Centre in the UK was the first by any Nigerian airline.
He said the airline would deploy the B777 aircraft to service its long-haul routes adding that more pilots would go for the B777 type rating course.
Recently, the airline confirmed it would acquire more aircraft, including some B777s, to beef up its fleet.
The airline, which launched its regional operations with a maiden flight to Accra-Ghana on February 16, 2017, has been designated by the federal government to operate to Johannesburg, London, Atlanta, Mumbai, Dubai and Guangzhou, China.
