The senator representing Kogi Central, Mrs Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan on Tuesday returned to the senate after serving out a six-month suspension for alleged breach of senate rules.
According to reports, the Kogi lawmaker arrived at the senate chamber when senate president, Mr Godswill Akpabio, was reading his address of welcome.
Upon arrival, she took her seat, where she was greeted with pleasantries by some of her colleagues, including Messrs Abdul Ningi (PDP-Bauchi), Ali Ndume (APC-Borno) and Aminu Tambuwal (PDP-Sokoto).
Recall that the lawmaker was suspended in March 2025 for six months over alleged misconduct during her protest against the reassignment of her seat by Akpabio on February 20.
Following her suspension, her office—located in Suite 2.05 of the senate wing—had been locked since March 6, 2025.
However, it was recently unsealed by the deputy director of the national assembly sergeant-at-arms, Mr Alabi Adedeji, paving the way for her return.
