The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced new dates for its election primaries saying the presidential nomination will take place on September 25.
In the previous timetable, the presidential primary was to be conducted September 20 and governorship, September 25.
The party’s national organising secretary, Mr. Emmanuel Ibediro, said Wednesday in a statement that the APC National Working Committee (NWC) had approved the new timetable.
“The National Working Committee (NWC) has approved the review of the table-table for the conduct of the 2018 Primary Elections as follows; September 25, Presidential Primary Election, and September 29 – Governorship Primary Election,” he stated.
The new dates are as follows:
25th September, 2018 – Presidential Primary Election
29th September, 2018 – Governorship Primary Election
2nd October, 2018 – Senate Primary Elections
3rd October, 2018 – House of Representatives Primary Elections
4th October, 2018 – State House of Assembly Primary Elections
6th October, 2018 – National Convention (Presidential).
It would be recalled that the party had a few weeks back released a time table which led to the commencement of its sale of expression of interest and nomination forms by aspirants for all elective offices.
The sale and submission of forms which was to end September 10 and was extended to September 11.
