The All Progressives Congress has handed down a 12-month suspension on the erstwhile director general of the Gbajabiamila/Wase campaign organisation, Mr. Abdulmuminu Jibrin for alleged anti-party activities.

Jibrin represents Bebeji /Kiru constituency of Kano State in the House of Representatives.

The chairman of APC in Bebeji local government area of the state, Mr. Sulaiman Sabo Gwarmai said in a statement that dated July 30th that the suspension was premised on the adoption of the committee report on Jibrin’s anti-party activities, which according to him, are against some provisions of the party’s constitution.

“Ranging from article 21, paragraph A (ii) (v) and (vii) the executive committee adopted the report and hereby suspend Abdul Muminu Jibrin Kofar for 12 months.’’

The statement added that the executive committee also adopted the committee’s recommendation urging the state executive committee to recommend to the national executive the immediate expulsion of the lawmaker from the party for offences found to be contrary to article 21. Paragraph A (ii) (v) and (xi) of the party constitution

It was gathered that Jibrin had been having a running battle with the APC state chairman, Mr. Abdullahi Abbas.

It would be recalled that despite his vigorous campaign to see to the emergence of Messrs Femi Gbajabiamila and Ahmed Wase as speaker and deputy speaker of the House of Representatives respectively, Jibrin who is a ranking lawmaker was conspicuously left out in the sharing of committee chairmanship posts.

His loss, it was gathered stemmed from his alleged unsavoury relationship with the APC executives in Kano, particularly, Abbas.
