Arik Air, today, received its Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft which was taken overseas for maintenance.
Spokesman for the airline, Mr. Adebanji Ola said in a statement that the aircraft was coming eight days after a Boeing 737-700NG returned to service from a C-check.
He also said the Boeing 737-800NG aircraft is a stretched version of the 737-700 brand.
He quotes the airline’s chief executive, Capt. Roy Ilegbodu as saying that the carrier’s mission “is to become a dominant air-services brand, globally admired for its world-leading operating, safety and service delivery standards, as well as its role in promoting Nigeria’s reputation at home and abroad”.
It is expected that with the return of the equipment, the airline will re-open more routes.
