A socio-political group, Ati Annang, Lagos chapter, has congratulated a foremost senior lawyer, Mr. Paul Usoro, on his appointment as the board chairman of Access Bank Plc
The group conveyed its message of felicitation to Usoro in a statement issued in Lagos on Sunday and signed by its chapter chairman, Mr. Felix Ekarika and secretary, Mr. James Udo.
Ati Annang said it has confidence in Usoro’s “capability, capacity, carriage, intelligence, panache and wisdom” to lead and provide the enabling environment for the entire management to deliver on its mandate.
It recalled that Usoro joined the board of Access Bank Plc as a non-executive director and “has since then served as chairman – human resources and sustainability committee chairman – board technical committee on retail expansion; vice chairman – board risk management committee; member – board governance and remuneration committee; member – board audit committee; member – board credit and finance committee.”
Therefore, it said the appointment is a demonstration of Usoro’s leadership capabilities demonstrated over the years.
It described the appointee as a “professional of very high impact”, “mobiliser”, “visionary” and a “mentor who, as chairman of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), initiated and implemented far reaching measures that have remained indelible till today.”
The statement reads: “The leadership and entire members of Ati Annang Foundation, Lagos Chapter, a foremost Socio-Cultural Organization in Annang Land, Akwa Ibom State, met recently, and after due deliberations on the delightful news of the appointment of our delectable chapter patron, Chief Paul Usoro, SAN as chairman of Access Bank Plc, made the following declarations: “That we congratulate and heartily identify with the pride of Annang land, Chief Paul Usoro, SAN, on this well merited appointment to the pinnacle of the corporate world which did not come easy but through dint of hard work and perseverance.
