The League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LLAC) has announced that the chief executive officers of aviation agencies and other stakeholders in the industry would form the panel of discussants at the 27th edition of its annual conference holding on Thursday, July 27, 2023 in Lagos.
The chairmen and the secretary of the association, Messrs Chinedu Eze and Albinus Chiedu said in a statement that the conference would be held under theme ‘Aviation industry: Changing times, changing strategies.’
According to the statement, the GMD of Finchglow Travels and chairman, Association of Aviation Training Organizations (AATOs), Mr Bernard Bankole, president, Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative (ASRTI) are also part of the panel of discussants.
The League also disclosed that director general of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Musa Nuhu, will present the keynote address while the director general, Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) Mr Akin Olateru will present a paper.
The CEOs expected at the annual event the managing director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mr. Kabir Mohammed, managing director, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Mr. Tayib Odunowo, director general, Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), Prof Mansur Matazu, and rector, Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Capt. Alkali Modibbo.
The others are the chairman, SIFAX Group, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, permanent secretary, ministry of aviation (and aerospace) Dr. Emmanuel Meribole, chairman, Air Peace, Mr. Allen Onyema, chairman, United Nigeria Airlines, Dr. Obiora Okonkwo, CEO, Centurion Security, Group Capt John Ojikutu (retd), CEO, CEO TopBrass Aviation, Mr. Roland Iyayi, and Publisher, ATQ Magazine, Mr. Ikechi Uko, among others.
The league said the theme for the year was informed by the emerging changes in approach to aviation business as regards technology, airline management and operations, financing and other aspects of the aviation industry.
“Aviation and allied business organisations have taken the advantage of sponsorship opportunities presented by this event to sell their products and services. This 2023 edition presents yet another opportunity.
“There shall be both physical and virtual participation in the conference to enable participation of stakeholders from across the world,” it said.
Furthermore, it said: “Individuals and organisations that have distinguished themselves in the industry on performance shall equally be honoured with Awards in the LAAC Awards of Excellence segment.”
No fewer than 250 aviation industry professionals cutting across the aviation parastatals, security agencies, international and domestic airlines operating in Nigeria, aviation support services, travel trade sellers and buyers in Nigeria’s aviation industry are expected to participate at the year’s conference.
