Aviation stakeholders ready for AIB-N/LAAC Conference

Major stakeholders in the aviation industry have confirmed their participation in the conference on ‘Preventing human factors in accident occurrences’ which is put together by the Accident Investigation Bureau Nigeria (AIB-N) in conjunction with the League of Airport and Aviation Correspondents (LAAC).

The event which holds Friday, January 15, 2021 at the Sheraton Hotels and Suites, Lagos will be attended physically by 80 stakeholders while over 250 aviation industry professionals across the world will participate via zoom.

Some participants who confirmed physical attendance include the commissioner and chief executive officer of AIB-N, Mr. Akin Olateru, director general of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Musa Nuhu, and managing director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Capt. Rabiu Yadudu.

Others included National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE), Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers’ Association (NATCA), Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), Aviation Round Table (AON), airline chiefs, ground handlers and several other key industry stakeholders while others would join by zoom.

The minister of aviation, Mr. Hadi Sirika is expected to be the special guest of honour; Olateru will be the lead speaker while Nuhu will present the keynote address.

The programme will feature a panel discussion session with representatives of AON, NAAPE, NATCA and other stakeholders on the panel.
