President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to leave Nigeria for Saudi Arabia tomorrow to perform Umrah, otherwise called lesser pilgrimage.
The senior special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Mr. Garba Shehu said in a statement on Wednesday that the president was invited by the Saudi monarch, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, to perform the Umrah.
“To this effect, the president, accompanied by close personal aides, will embark on the journey on Thursday, 16th May. He is expected back in the country on Tuesday, 21st May,” Shehu stated.
“Umrah is an optional but recommended pilgrimage to Makkah that can be made at any time of the year,” he explained.
Shehu stated that the president, who will be accompanied on the trip by his close personal aides, will return to the country on Tuesday, May 21.
