There is a glimmer of hope that President Muhammadu Buhari
will send his list of ministerial nominees to the upper legislature before the
end of the week.
The senate president, Mr. Ahmad Lawan stated this in Abuja on Wednesday while responding to a point of Order raised by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) lawmaker, Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Albert Bassey Akpan, who expressed worries over the delay in the presentation of the list by the executive.
The senate president said the executive was working hard to ensure that it makes available to the senate, the list before the end of this week.
Akpan who came under Order 43 had described as “worrisome” the fact that the list was not yet made available to the senate, pointing out that the lawmakers will embark on the traditional two months recess in the next 14 days.
He said there was the need for the executive to hasten the process of forwarding to the list to the senate before the beginning of its holiday.
