President Muhammadu Buhari has sent names of seven nominees to the senate for confirmation as ministers.
This is contained in two letters read by senate president, Mr. Ahmad Lawan on the floor of the upper legislative chamber on Tuesday.
The new nominees are Henry Ikechukwu (Abia), Umana Umana (Akwa Ibom), Ekuma Joseph (Ebonyi), Goodluck Obia (Imo), Umar Yakub (Kano), Ademola Adegorioye (Ondo), and Odo Udi (Rivers)
Buhari said he expected to receive the usual expeditious consideration and confirmation of the nominees by the Senate.
The nominees are to replace former ministers Rotimi Amaechi, Ogbonnaya Onu, Godswill Akpabio and Emeka Nwajiuba who all resigned in pursuit of their presidential ambition.
They resigned pursuant to the provisions of section 84(12) of the electoral act.
