The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday announced 12 new cases of COVID-19 in the country bringing the toll to 151.
According to the agency, nine of the cases were reported in Osun, two in Edo and one in Ekiti State.
“Twelve new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria; 9 in Osun, 2 in Edo and 1 in Ekiti State.
“As at 12:30 pm 1st April there are 151 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Nine have been discharged with two deaths,” said the NCDC in a tweet.
Of the 151 confirmed cases, Lagos State leads with 82 followed by FCT with 28 and Osun, 14.
The others are Oyo, eight cases; Ogun and Edo states, four apiece; Kaduna, three; Ekiti, Enugu, and Bauchi states, two each, while Rivers and Benue have one case each.
A former managing director of the Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC), Mr. Suleiman Achimugu, died of the disease and was Nigeria’s first fatality.
