The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Tuesday 117 new cases of coronavirus disease in eight states.
They are Lagos, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kano, Katsina, Ogun, Rivers, Bauchi and Borno states.
The agency said in its tweet that 59 cases were recorded in Lagos, 29 in the FCT, 14 in Kano State and six in Borno State.
It further said four cases were recorded in Katsina State, three in Ogun State and one in Rivers and Bauchi State respectively.

A breakdown of all the cases shows that Lagos State has so far reported 430 cases, followed by FCT – 118, Kano – 73, Osun and Ogun – 20, Oyo and Katsina – 16 cases each, Edo – 15, while Kwara, Kaduna, Borno and Akwa Ibom have recorded nine cases each.
Meanwhile, Lagos State discharged nine more COVID-19 patients, bringing to 107 the total number of successfully treated persons in the state.
The state governor and Incident Commander on COVID-19, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said the discharged patients include five females and four males.
“They are eight Nigerians and one Polish citizen. Five were discharged from the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba and four from Onikan Isolation Centre,” he said.
Also yesterday, the commissioner for health, Prof Akin Abayomi announced the death of two more COVID-19 patients, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the state to 16.
He said via his twitter handle, @ProfAkinAbayomi that the dead patients were aged 45 and 36 respectively.
“One of the deceased was a 45-year-old Nigerian; a male who returned from India in January 2020.
“The second death involved a 36-year-old Nigerian; female with a severe underlying health condition. She had no history of travel or contact with any #COVID19 confirmed case,” he added.
