Dana Air pilot, Capt Abiodun Lawal and first officer, Toluwase Oluwani landed an aircraft safely after a go- around at the Abuja Airport.

A go‐around is a flight procedure in which an arriving aircraft aborts its landing procedure and returns to the landing queue. Go‐around is typically initiated if a pilot or controller is not completely satisfied that the requirements for a safe landing are in place.

The airline said in a statement that its pilot of flight 9J355 from Lagos to Abuja with over 140 passengers on approach had to initiate a go around which is a safety procedure when the conditions for landing was not good.

The airline said when the flight approached Abuja runway the pilot noticed that visibility was poor due to bad weather and had to initiate a go-around.

In a trending video, passengers were seen taking pictures with the captain and his first officer, commending them for high safety consciousness and for reassuring the passengers constantly through the duration of the go- around.
