Boko Haram has returned schoolgirls kidnapped from their hostels at Government Girls Science and Technical College (GGSTC), Dapchi, Yobe State on February 19, 2018
NewsGazette gathered that the insurgents came with the girls in nine vehicles and dropped them off in Dapchi town.
Unconfirmed reports say 105 were release while some said 110 were returned to the town.
It was also learnt that there was confusion in the area as members of the community ran into the bush as the heavily armed insurgents appeared in the area, first dropping off one the girls in a nearby village and then driving into the centre of Dapchi town to drop off the rest of the girls.
Another unconfirmed report said five of the girls were dead.
However, it was not clear whether government paid any ransom or exchanged Boko Haram prisoners for the release of the schoolgirls.
