Dunoma resumes duty formally as president ACI-Africa in Maputo

The managing director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mr. Saleh Dunoma, who was elected President, Africa region of the Airports Council International (ACI) formally resumes duty today at the ACI-Africa General Assembly in Maputo, Mozambique.

Dunoma who was presented to the assembly also made a presentation on behalf of ACI-Africa to the out gone President, Pascal Komla in an occasion attended by director general, ACI World, Angela Gittens, the secretary general, Ali Tounsi and board members of the organization.

The chargé d’affaires of the Nigerian High Commission in Maputo, Mrs. Wosilat Adedeji who had earlier hosted Dunoma at Nigeria house in Maputo, described him as a “great pride to Nigeria and indeed the African continent.”

She further described Dunoma as an international brand ambassador for the country and the over 10, 000 Nigerians resident in Mozambique.

It would be recalled that the Dunoma was elected president at the 25th annual assembly, regional conference and exhibition of ACI holding in Maputo.

Dunoma has thus become the first Nigerian to preside over the 62-member body operating 250 airports in 47 countries on the African continent.

Dunoma who has over 30 years of hands-on experience in the aviation sector is a recipient of the National Productivity Order of Merit (NPOM) Award.

A graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Dunoma began his career in aviation in the Civil Engineering Department of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) in 1980 and rose through the ranks to become managing director

ACI is a non-for-profit organization with five geographical regions – Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin American-Caribbean and North America.
