The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has frozen the bank accounts of the Akwa Ibom State government.
TheCable reports that a top official of the government made the disclosure in Uyo.
The source said the state governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel and the accountant-general of the state were shocked by the development.
The report of the freezing of Akwa Ibom government accounts happened shortly after the commission blocked the bank accounts of the Benue State government.
There was yet no official statement from the Commission.
