Operatives of the Lagos State command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at the weekend raided Conference Hotel, Abeokuta, Ougn State and arrested 60 internet fraudsters popularly referred to as Yahoo Boys.
Spokesperson for EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, disclosed this in a statement tagged ‘EFCC arrests 60 at Yahoo Boys’ Awards Night,’ issued in Abuja on Monday.
He said the event was tagged ‘Peer Youths Awards’ adding that investigation later revealed that it was organised to reward high-level internet fraudsters.
Uwujaren stated that items recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest to included exotic cars, electronic devices, laptop computers and mobile phones.
He said the suspects would be charged to court.
