Former deputy governor of Lagos State, Dr Idiat Adebule has been declared winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos West Senatorial District Primary held at Agege Stadium, Agege.
Adebule trounced the former minister of state for defence, Mr. Musiliu Obanikoro and one-time Lagos commissioner for transportation, Mr Kayode Opeifa.
Opeifa’s quest to withdraw from the race was rebuffed by the electoral committee because voting had commenced before he announced his decision.
The chairman, APC Lagos senatorial primary election committee, Mr Emeka Okafor declared Adebule winner of the election.
Chairmen of Oriade local council development and Agege local government areas, Ramotalai Akinola-Hassan and Ganiyu Egunjobi respectively, were Adebule’s agents.
