The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) said it would support the Borno State government in its plan to unveil the Muhammadu Buhari International Airport in Maiduguri on January 1, 2025.
The managing director and chief executive of FAAN, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, made the pledge at a stakeholders’ meeting convened by the state governor, Prof Babagana Zulum in Maiduguri.
Kuku expressed FAAN’s commitment to deploying its manpower and resources to achieve the target date.
The meeting was attended by the minister of aviation and aerospace development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, who directed FAAN to extend all the necessary support to ensure the realisation of this significant project.
She assured all parties that FAAN would not only meet but exceed the minister’s directive by ensuring adherence to both local and international aviation regulations and providing comprehensive guidance and technical expertise to propel the airport project.
The managing director commended Zulum for his vision and determination, underscoring FAAN’s unwavering commitment to offering appropriate technical support to the project.
