The Federal Airports Authority (FAAN) on Friday opened runway 18L/36R at the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos for 24-hour operation.
The agency disclosed this in a tweet
With the development, airlines can land on the runway after sunset.
The reopening came after FAAN had successfully installed CAT III airfield lightings on the runway.

Recall that the runway was closed to traffic in July 2022 to fix the airfield ground lighting system.
FAAN had stated that installation of runway facilities would commence on July 8 and completed in 90 days.
It assured domestic airlines that normal flight operations would not be affected by the installations.
