The former governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose has been
caught in a video lounging on one of the Caribbean Islands while at a time he
was expected to be receiving medical treatment in a hospital.
He was also shown dancing to salsa (a popular form of social dance originating in Eastern Cuba) with lady at New Year’s Eve party in a ship.
Various reactions trailed the video suggesting that Fayose, who is standing trial for corruption, deceived the court with excuse of ill health to secure leave to travel abroad.
Fayose who is facing trial over alleged N6.9 billion fraud and money laundering, was granted bail by the Federal High Court, Lagos in July 2019 to travel abroad for medical treatment.
Lauretta Onochie had posted the video on her twitter handle, commenting in a sarcastic manner: “It’s a miracle! Peter is healed! Praise The Lord! Doctors can work wonders sha. Ayodele Fayose on medical dancing therapy. This means he’s no longer in severe pain and we won’t be seeing him on stretchers during his next court appearance or on his way to jail. Thank you Doctors.”
Fayose swiftly reacted via his tweeter handle @GovAyoFayose and warned those sharing or commenting on issue to mind their business.
The message reads: “These “hailers”, when I was on their case, they were crying. Now I’m on my own lane enjoying my life, they are still crying & sucking. Expect more so you can cry more. I’m on medical check up not admission. Celebrating New Year is my right, haters can hug transformer.”
Also reacting to the video, Ediye @iamOkon wrote: “But what if that dance with the oyinbo babe was part of Gov. Fayose’s treatment. Like a therapy recommended by his doctors. Don’t forget dance is a very good form of exercising too.
Another social media commentator Bolaji Olatunde @BOLMOJOLA responded: “Dance is actually exercise; for real. But Ayo Fayose sure knows how to have a good time. Let him relax. Probably, last supper things. Heh, heh, heh.
Besides, Kayode Ogundamisi @ogundamisi said: @GovAyoFayose “exercising” in a foreign hospital after being granted permission to take a break from corruption trial to travel for “highly urgent medical treatment” by a Nigerian court.
Olanrewaju Suraju @larryk371 also wrote: “When Nigerian PEPs charged with corruption & their lawyers play pranks on the judiciary with applications for medical vacations u can now understand better. This is ex governor @GovAyoFayose granted leave for medicals receiving one by the beach. @officialEFCC to take note.”
