The federal executive council has approved N4.6 billion for the construction of model schools in the FCT and six states in the six geo-political zones.
Briefing the media after the meeting which began around 4pm and ended about 10pm, the minister of information, Mr. Lai Mohammed said the beneficiary states are Nasarawa (north-central), Katsina (northwest), Bauchi (northeast), Lagos (southwest), Imo (southeast) and Edo (south-south).
The allocation forms part of the N9.2 billion approved by the federal executive council on Thursday in Abuja for some capital projects.
Mohammed said N3 billion was also approved for the construction of sewage in the FCT and another N1.6 billion for the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) for the purchase of anti-retroviral drugs for victims of HIV/AIDS.
