Statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) show that the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) disbursed a total sum of N5.4 trillion in 2019 to the federal, state and local governments in the country in 2019.
The amount represents 1.9 per cent increase from N5.3 trillion shared in 2018.
The report showed that FAAC disbursed N2.93 trillion to the federal government of in 2019.
It further stated that the highest net allocations were disbursed in July and September with 275.03 billion and 266.49 billion respectively while the least amount disbursed to the federal government during the period where in May and March with 219.51 billion and N223.28 billion.
The total net FAAC allocation to states stood at N2.47trillion with Delta and Akwa Ibom states received lion’s share of N219.28billionn and N171.98billion respectively 2019 while Osun and Cross River states received the least allocation of N24.22 billion and N36.31 billion each.
The total net FAAC allocation to local government councils stood at N1.64 trillion in 2019 with Lagos and Kano states receiving the highest allocation of N104.97 billion and N92.16 billion respectively while Bayelsa and Gombe states received the least allocation of N18.99 billion and N23.80 billion.
