It puts the number of deaths at 68,154 and recovered, 257,202.
It also puts the number of active cases at 927,716 with 882,337 (95 per cent) in mild condition and 45,379 (5 per cent) in serious or critical condition.
The five countries with the highest numbers of confirmed cases are the US (327,871), Spain (130,759), Italy (128,948), Germany (98,765), France (89,953) and China (81,669).
Italy leads with 15,887 deaths, Spain, 12,418; US, 9,325, France, 7,560; UK, 4,934; Iran, 3,603 and China, 3,329.
China, which is now at number six (in terms of confirmed cases), reported 30 new coronavirus cases on Saturday, up from 19 a day earlier as the number of cases involving travellers from abroad as well as local transmissions increased.
