Men of Professional Hunters and Local Hunters in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State have shot dead two suspected kidnappers while two victims were rescued in an early morning operation on Sunday.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the spokesman for the Okehi local government area Mr. King Habeeb.
He said the operation took place at Upogoro hill following credible intelligence reports from men of Okehi local government joint task force.
He said the kidnapping gang had been a thorn in the flesh of users of Okene-Lokoja and Okene-Auchi before they engaged the hunters in a shootout.
Habeeb said one of the kidnappers was shot dead during a gun duel while another who was arrested died from gunshot wounds on the way to the hospital.
He also said hunters rescued two abductees – Mr. Sanni Uwaiti and Ms. Ramatu Tukur.
