Ibom Air signs deal for 10 additional A220s

Ibom Air is close to a deal to buy at least 10 A220 jets from European aircraft manufacturer, Airbus.

According to Reuters, one industry source who disclosed this at the Dubai Airshow on Sunday said the deal could extend up to 20 aircraft. Airbus declined comment.

Meanwhile, the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Udom Emmanuel confirmed on that the airline planned to add 10 additional A220-300 series aircraft to its fleet of Ibom Air.

He revealed the plan when he spoke at an event marking the 85th birthday of the paramount ruler of Eket, Obong Etim Abia.

 “As I am leaving here, we are signing fresh agreements that will give us 10 brand new A220-300 Air Buses, so that even when I leave office, it will remain an enduring legacy,’’ he said.
