The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), in collaboration with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU), has sensitised the employees of Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, Ibadan to the need to combat corruption in the workplace.
At a seminar held under the theme ‘Corruption is a virus’ the resource persons highlighted the strategies for eradicating corruption in the workplace and the environment.
In her presentation, a representative of the ICPC in the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Njideka Nwobu, discussed the seven deadly sins of corruption, explored social factors influencing corrupt behaviour, and proposed actions to eliminate corruption in the workplace.
She elaborated on the acronym and definition of integrity and its relevance in the workplace.
Besides, she identified traits and attributes of individuals with true integrity, practical steps in enhancing integrity in the workplace and stressed its importance in personal and professional life.
The seminar underscored ICPC’s commitment to fostering a corruption-free environment and promoting ethical standards within governmental institutions.
Attendees were subsequently required to undergo a test meeting ICPC standards, aimed at reinforcing anti-corruption knowledge and principles.
Furthermore, the employees present were encouraged to anonymously submit complaints and challenges they encounter at the airport via a designated form.
