Ikot Ekpene plays host to ‘Redeeming the Land’ crusade

All is now set for a two-day mega crusade, beginning Thursday, at Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium, Akwa Ibom State, with the theme ‘Redeeming the Land.’

Tagged ‘Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Crusade’, the event, expected to spark a great spiritual re-awakening and miracles of healing and deliverance will feature Bishop Emmah Isong, a leading pentecostal clergy as key speaker and chief host with the artiste ‘Freke’ as guest artiste.

Isong, general overseer of Christian Central Chapel International (CCCI) and national publicity secretary of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), told the crusade’s planning committee in Uyo that similar event was being planned for Eket and Uyo Senatorial districts.

Isong said aside the years of hardship that had been worsened by a growing level of insecurity, many Nigerians have become victims of diverse sicknesses and satanic attacks that need the power of God for their healing and deliverance.

Pastor Obong Akpaekong, head of the crusade’s press relations subcommittee, said there can be no better time for mega crusades in the country than now when the population is facing lots of sociopolitical and economic problems that require the intervention of God.

He said a large number of the sick, poor, oppressed and socially traumatized are expected at the event, which has the backing of Christian Association of Nigeria, (CAN), PFN and a large number of church denominations across the 31 local government areas of Akwa Ibom State.

It will be the second time Ikot Ekpene stadium will play host to a very large number of people in the last two weeks.

It was at the stadium that the former governor of Akwa Ibom State and senator representing Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, Godswill Akpabio, declared his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on August 8.
