Imo Air operated by Dana Air has announced has collaborated with the House of FREEDA on the unveiling of ELFREEDA Foundation on August 11 at Imo Trade and Investment Centre, Owerri, Imo state.

Founded by Mrs. Uloma Rochas Nwosu, ELFREEDA Foundation is a non- profit organization providing a stabilizing base for homeless women and children to rebuild their lives as they transit back to the society.

The nongovernmental organization aims to provide the basic needs for desperate and vulnerable homeless women and children, helping them build more stable and productive lives, while addressing the causes and consequences of homelessness in Nigeria.

Dana’s communications manager of Imo Air, Mr. Kingsley Ezenwa said supporting the initiative is the airline’s way of giving back to the society.

“Providing the basic necessities of life is the best thing any organization or individual can do to the underprivileged in our society.  Considering the present economic situation in the country, we believe supporting a foundation like this will not only lessen the burden on our already overburdened government, but will take away the ‘destitute’ from the streets, rehabilitate them and give them a reason to smile again.”

“Just as Elizabeth Andrew said ‘volunteers don’t necessarily have the time; they have the heart,’ we are proud to partner the ELFREEDA Foundation and commend the founder, Mrs. Uloma Nwosu, for this massive humanitarian effort. And as a responsible corporate citizen committed to giving back to the society, we assure her of our constant support.”

Imo Air operated by Dana Air is a product of an airline partnership between the Imo state government and Dana Air, as part of efforts by the state government to diversify the economy of the state, increase commercial activities, create employment and boost tourism in the state.

Recently, Dana Air introduced a buy two, get one free promo for its Lagos-Owerri-Lagos route passengers as part of its existing partnership with the Imo state government and assured its clients of more customer-centric and rewarding initiatives.
