The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released a list of senators elected in the national assembly election held on February 23.
The list which contains 100 names shows that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has 62 senators, People’s Democratic Party (PDP), 37 and the Young Progressives Party (YPP), one.
Although the senate is made up of 109 senators, 100 senators were announced by INEC in the official document.
Out of the 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the APC has a majority in 23 states.
The states are mostly North West and South West governed by the party.
Also, of the 100 senatorial seats declared so far, five are to be occupied by women.
They include two new senators Ms. Aisha Dahiru, (Adamawa Central) and Ms. Uche Ekwunife, (Anambra Central) and three returning lawmakers, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu (Lagos West), Ms. Rose Oko (Cross River North) and Mrs. Stella Oduah (Anambra North).
