Insecurity: Kaduna CP, others redeployed

The Acting Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the immediate redeployment of the Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, Mr. Ahmed Abdulrahman to the Force Intelligence Bureau, Abuja.

A statement by the spokesman for the Nigeria Police Force, Mr. Frank Mba, on Wednesday in Abuja, announced Mr. Aji Janga as a replacement for Abdulrahman.

Janga was until now the commissioner of police Bauchi State Command.

Mba said that other commissioners affected by the exercise are: Mr. Habu Ahmadu, former commissioner in charge of Intelligence, who is now posted to the Bauchi Command while Mr. Omololu Bishi was redeployed from Benue Command to the Central Criminal Registry (CCR), Alagbon in Lagos.

Mr. Mukadas Garba was moved from the Office of the National Security Adviser to Benue Command, while the erstwhile commissioner in charge of CCR Alagbon, Lagos was redeployed the Force Headquarters, Abuja, to be in charge of armament.

Mba explained that the exercise was aimed at re-jigging the fight against banditry, kidnapping and other sundry crimes across the nation, particularly in Kaduna and other contiguous states.

He added that the acting inspector general of police had charged the newly posted and redeployed officers and other strategic commanders nationwide to take initiative and implement concrete crime prevention strategies.
