The senate president, Mr. Ahmad Lawan on Wednesday swore in Mr. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe as representative of Cross River North Senatorial District.
Senator Jarigbe’s swearing-in followed a ruling of the Court of Appeal that declared him the validly elected candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during the primaries.
The court which sacked Mr. Stephen Odey, said Jarigbe was the lawful candidate of the PDP in the December 5th, 2020 bye-election for the seat.
The three-man panel presided by Justice Chioma Nwosu also invalidated the certificate of return earlier issued to Odey by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC and directed that it be withdrawn.
