The minister of aviation and aerospace development, Mr Festus Keyamo, has HOG Technologies to explore cutting-edge technological solutions to bolster safety, operational efficiency, and sustainability across Nigeria’s airports.
Headquartered in the US, HOG Technologies is a global leader in runway de-rubberisation equipment, at their headquarters in Stuart, Florida.
Spokesman for the minister, Mr Tunde Moshood, said in a statement that Keyamo was accompanied on the tour by the MD/CEO of Barnksforte Group Ltd., Mr. Adedayo Bankole and the CEO of International Trade Exchange LLC, representatives of HOG Technologies in Nigeria, Mr Bishop Adejube, and were received by the founder and chief executive officer of the company Mr James Crocker and the vice president, global sales, Mr. Matt Butcher.
In his speech, the minister described the visit as “pivotal” between Nigeria and HOG Technologies and expressed optimism about the potential of the partnership.
“This visit marks a pivotal step in our mission to elevate Nigeria’s aviation standards. The insights and opportunities gained during this engagement lay the foundation for transformative advancements in safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
“Part of what could be our strategic priorities is to acquire HOG Technologies’ de-rubberisation equipment for major Nigerian airports, launch a pilot project at a high-traffic airport and also collaboration to train Nigerian technical teams.
“This collaboration with HOG Technologies aligns with the federal ministry of aviation and aerospace development’s vision to modernise infrastructure, adopt global best practices, and ensure Nigeria’s aviation sector remains a key driver of economic growth and sustainability,” he said.
For his part, Crocker emphasised the suitability of HOG Technologies’ solutions for Nigeria’s high-traffic and regional airports, highlighting the equipment’s efficiency and sustainability.
He also revealed plans to establish a regional training and support center in Nigeria to foster capacity building and technology transfer.
