As scheduled international flights into and out Nigeria begin tomorrow, the Lgaos State government has expressed satisfaction with the facilities put in place by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed.
Speaking during a working visit to the airport to ascertain its level of preparedness ahead of flight restart, the deputy governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat who led the government’s delegation said they had gone through the various measures put in place to ensure safety and security.
He said from the departure frontage to the check-in area, screening point, immigration area, up to the boarding gate, “FAAN has fully complied with laid down protocols to ensure physical distancing by the markings on ground, proper temperature checks, hand washing/sanitising. Even the airport conveniences have been upgraded to cater for the Post Covid-19 operational requirements.
“All we have seen is that the airport is ready to recommence flight operations,” said Hamzat.
He enjoined travellers and airport users to always follow instructions given by airport officials in the interest of safety.
In his remarks, FAAN’s managing director Capt. Rabiu Yadudu thanked the state government for its continuous support.
“All that is required for the safe, secure and seamless facilitation of flight operations has been put in place already,” he said.
He announced that three flights arrive at the airport tomorrow, beginning with Middle East Airline at 1500hours.
