The Nigerian Aviation Handling Co. Plc (nahco aviance) has appointed Mr. Idris Yakubu as its managing director and promoted over 846 staff in its employ.
The outgoing acting managing director and chief executive officer of the ground handling firm, Mrs. Folashade Ode said the promotion was approved by the board of directors adding that “it is one of the staff improvement strategies of nahco aviance.”
She also said the promotion which came against the background of an economy that is still in technical recession “shows the importance that the company places on its staff.
Ode, who reverts to her portfolio as acting managing director and chief executive officer of Nahco EPI, also said the exercise was based on well-defined criteria that ensure fairness and transparency and restated the company’s resolve to keep a happy and well–motivated workforce.
“A more transparent, performance-driven reward and compensation system will be put in place to improve our overall service quality with positive impact on our revenue and profitability,” she added.
She therefore urged all staff to reciprocate the Board’s kind gesture by rededicating themselves to their duties to further enhance the progress of nahco aviance.
The current promotion exercise came about two years after the company promoted 390 staff.
The last promotion was done in September 2015 and last July the company increased workers’ salary by 15 per cent.
It would be recalled that last August 31 Ode replaced the erstwhile managing director and chief executive officer of nahco aviance, Mr. Norbert Bielderman in acting capacity.
She formally hands over to Yakubu on November 20, 2017 and would return to NAHCO EPI.
Yakubu comes to nahco aviance with a vast wealth of experience, spanning 28 years in financial management, leadership, strategy, business development, organizational change and business renewal.
His most recent appointment was executive director Skye Bank Plc. Plc.
