The managing director/chief executive officer of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company plc (nahco aviance), Mr. Norbert Bielderman, has given his notice of resignation to the company.
Bielderman, who gave three months’ notice, would formally disengage from the company on August 31, 2017.
In his stead, the company’s former executive director, legal, risk and subsidiary services, Mrs. Folashade Ode has been appointed as acting managing director/chief executive officer of Nahco Energy, Power and Infrastructure (EPI).
Bielderman joined nahco aviance in May, 2010 and was appointed executive director, operations on December 6, 2013.
He became acting managing director/chief executive officer in October 2014 while his appointment as the managing director/chief executive officer was confirmed in April 2015.
“The resignation notice given by Mr. Bielderman has activated the company’s well laid-down succession planning process. The regulators, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) have been duly notified of the new development,” said the company’s spokesman, Mr. Tayo Ajakaye in a statement.
Ajakaye said the company was tapping into emerging opportunities in the energy and aviation infrastructure sectors adding that Ode “is expected to further drive NAHCO’s diversification process using the platform of the new company, EPI.”
Other changes announced by the Company after the board’s recent meeting include the retirement of Dr. Faruk Umar from the Board and his replacement by Sir Sunny Nwosu.
Umar, who was the director representing minority shareholders on the Board, was appointed to the Board on June 22, 2011.
