The father of Leah Sharibu, Nathan has challenged the federal government and an acclaimed Boko Haram contact, Mr. Ahmed Salkida to come clean abouth the whereabouts of his daughter.
It would be recalled that is a school girl who has been in Boko Haram captivity since she and 109 students of Government Girls’ Science and Technical College (GGSTC), Dapchi, Yobe State were abducted by the terrorists on February 19, 2018.
One hundred and five of the girls regained freedom on March 21, 2018 through a series of what the federal government described as ‘behind-the-scene discussion’ while five were said to have died on the way on the day of captivity and were given a mass burial.
But Leah, the only Christian among the abductees who was 15 at the time of abduction, was denied her freedom because she refused to convert to Islam as a precondition.
Speaking in an interview, Nathan alleged who reacted to reports that his daughter had been converted to Islam and had given birth for a Boko Haram Commander said the federal government and Salkida knew his daughter’s whereabouts.
According to Punch, Nathan said despite the latest revelation about Leah, his prayer is to see his daughter return alive.
“There are no qualms. I have been receiving lots of calls…but all I can say is that it is well. If that is the will of God, it is well. Whatever they have done I receive it with all pleasure. The government knows of Leah’s whereabouts. I repeat it; the government knows Leah’s whereabouts, more or less Ahmed Salkida. The government knows about her whereabouts. But whatever it is, I don’t have anything more to say, than to receive it (the condition of Leah) with all pleasure.”
Salkida, a journalist, had claimed is now a mother.
It was reported that Leah was married off to a top Boko Haram commander who lives outside the country.
According to the report, Leah gave birth in Niger Republic.
Also recall that Jennifer Ukambong Samuel, an aid worker recently rescued from Boko Haram’s captivity recently had said Leah was doing fine.
Giving updates about her well being on Sunday, January 19, in Jos, Jennifer, who was attached to Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA), said though she did not see her, another woman held by the insurgents, identified as Alice, confirmed to her that she was doing fine.
