The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) yesterday brokered peace between the National Union of Air Transport Employees NUATE and Turkish Airlines that would lead to the airline airlifting its Nigeria passengers who were stranded at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos following the picketing of the airline by NUATE on Tuesday.
Spokesman for the NCAA, Mr Michael Achimugu said in a statement that the deal was struck after a meeting of the two parties with the representative of the acting director general civil aviation, Capt Chris Najomo
Following the NCAA intervention, NUATE temporarily agreed to shelve further interruption of Turkish Airlines operations in Lagos and Abuja to allow the airlift of stranded passengers both inbound and outbound from across the world.
