The Flying School of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, has graduated its first Multi Crew Cooperation Course No. 1 (MCC.1) participants.
Out of the four graduates, three were sponsored by Arik Air while one came from the institution.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the rector/chief executive of the college, Capt. Abdulsalami Mohammed, said the MCC course is designed to train single seat pilots in the team skills necessary for the safe operation of complex, multi-crew jet aircraft.
“The training focuses on teaching participants the fundamentals of operating as a crew in the multi-crew airline environment. The course offers participants the opportunity to practice and develop the skills necessary for leadership and support roles in line with the International Civil Aviation Organization ( ICAO),” he added.
Earlier in his welcome address, the head of flying school, Capt. Mohammed Barau said described the graduates as “brand ambassadors of NCAT” and urged them to know the technological world in real time and help the present comatose civil aviation industry.
At the event, individual students were recognized for their outstanding overall academic performance.
