he All Progressives Congress (APC) in Akwa Ibom State has disclaimed the new that his candidate in the March 9 governorship election, Mr. Nsima Ekere had withdrawn from the race.
The party’s chairman of information and strategic communication committee and spokesman for the campaign council, Mr. Eseme Eyibo said in a statement in Uyo that Ekere had no reason to call it quits.
He said it was untrue that he signed the statement of Ekere’s purported withdrawal from the governorship contest.
.“Our attention has been drawn to (a fake news) currently making the rounds on the social media that the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the March 9, 2019 polls, Obong Nsima Ekere, has withdrawn from the governorship race.
“For avoidance of doubt, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Obong Nsima Ekere, has not withdrawn from the governorship race. He has no reason to do so,” said Eyibo.
